Recognized as one of the finest waterfalls destination in the country, Aliwag-wag falls is a perfect summer retreat for those who have had enough of the beach. This famous body of water boasts of 84 series of falls with varying lengths ranging from six to 110 feet and from where pristine water cascades. At the foot of this 1,110 feet long waterfall is a river which could be enjoyed for bathing by tourists who hail locally and afar. Aliwagwag is in Cateel, around 25 kilometers from the town center. Cateel is 360 kilometers away from DavaoCity or around four to five hours bus ride. Though the trip might be quite long and tedious for some people, Aliwagwag is surely worth all the trouble. Once you arrive in the place, you will be surprised how much Mother Nature has blessed the place because aside from its magnificentwaterfalls that extend up to 20 meters in width, the place also abounds with rich vegetation of trees and teems with a great array of wildlife.

Historical Features Millenium Sunrise
- An event of the first rays of the sun in the Pacific at the turn of the third millennium. The National Weather Bureau declared that these first rays of the sun at the Pacific will be witnessed at 5:45 am, January 1, 2000 at the Pusan Point, Santiago, Caraga, Davao Oriental, Philippines. "Millenium" means 1,000 years. Hence, the Great Jubilee Year 2000 ushers the Coming of the Third Millennium of the Roman Calendar, or "Tertio Millenio Adveniente" in the words of Pope John Paul II.
Pusan Point
- Situated at barangay Santiago, Caraga Davao Orietnal. Known as the easternmost vantage point of the Philippine Archipelago, it required an utmost geographical significance becoming a navigational landmark of the Pacific since the Chinese, Dutch, Portuguese, & Spanish navigators of old Dr. Peter Schreurs, author of the Antigua", describe it as a place of solitude where one experiences serenity especially upon seeing the rays of the sun at the zenith. A violent shipwreck occurred here in September 11, 1875 which cost the life of Fr. Vivero and his six companions and a helmsman.

Caraga Church
17th Century Caraga Church
Considered as one of the oldest churches in Mindanao, located in the town proper of Caraga, 70 meters from the edge of a built-in port made of ancient rocks overlooking the Pacific Ocean. It houses the 1802 Church Bell brought by the friars from Spain along with the antique image of San Isidro Labrador and other ancient files and archives. The baptismal registry from year 1835 up to present is still intact. These documents proved that from 1835 up to 1846, the places of Baganga, Manay and Mati used to register their newly baptized inhabitants at Caraga church. Part of the convent was used as a prison cell during the Spanish times.

Aptly called the “Sleeping Dinosaur” because of its unique shape that resembles the giant beast, this peninsula is a favorite view that lies along Badas road near Mati town in Davao Oriental province in the Southern Philippines.
Waniban Island is located in Pujada Bay. It is a small island nearby Cinco Masau in the western coastline of Mati. From Cinco Masau, it was a 25 minute boat ride that cost us opnly P800 roundtrip. The boat was a tourist boat, so, it had comfortable seats, unlike fishing boats that are commonly used by tourists like me in provinces.
Pujada Island
Pujada island is located in Mati, Davao Oriental. A 30 minute boat ride from the Mati seaport will bring you to the island. But a shorter 10 minute route can be followed from the toww of Dawan in Barangay Makambol.

Attractions: A 1 hectare islet of pure white sand available during low and minimal tide. Ideal place for swimming and sunbathing. Seashells abound on this place.
